# Ares vs Meal Shield

The clearest difference is update cadence: Meal Shield at every 4 days against Ares's every 2 weeks. Ares's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ares sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Meal Shield sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ares ships an update every 2 weeks, Meal Shield every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
