# Dual vs Light Paint

The clearest difference is update cadence: Light Paint at every 5 days against Dual's monthly. Light Paint also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dual sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Light Paint sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dual ships an update monthly, Light Paint every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
