# WaterUnicorns vs Hydration Tracker

The clearest difference is ads: WaterUnicorns at none against Hydration Tracker's shown. WaterUnicorns also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 9 days) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). Hydration Tracker's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (26 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WaterUnicorns sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Hydration Tracker sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hydration Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hydration Tracker has 26 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of WaterUnicorns's written reviews are positive against 88% of Hydration Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WaterUnicorns ships an update daily, Hydration Tracker every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
