# SafeNotes vs LightNotes

The clearest difference is update cadence: LightNotes at every 2 weeks against SafeNotes's every 3 months. LightNotes also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). SafeNotes's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SafeNotes ships an update every 3 months, LightNotes every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
