# Orb vs Shadow Work

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Orb at 1.4K against Shadow Work's 6. Orb also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Orb sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Shadow Work sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shadow Work holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orb has 1.4K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Orb ships an update monthly, Shadow Work every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
