# SideMe vs Alex

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Alex at 100% against SideMe's 70%. Alex also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). SideMe's advantage is ratings volume (330 vs 3) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SideMe sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Alex sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SideMe has 330 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of SideMe's written reviews are positive against 100% of Alex's.

SideMe ships an update fortnightly, Alex every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
