Stop counting them twice. Count them as they walk past. Herdcount counts chickens, sheep, cattle, plants and people on your iPhone, from a photo or live as a herd moves through a gate. No internet, no account, no subscription. NEW IN 1.5: BIG, SPREAD-OUT FLOCKS Herdcount now looks at a photo section by section as well as whole, so animals far across the pasture get found. On one test photo of a large flock, the count went from 14 to 173. That is one photo, not a promise, and you can always fix the count by hand. Recount the same flock and Herdcount shows you last time's count, so you can see what changed. COUNT A MOVING HERD Prop your phone on the gate rail and let them walk through. Herdcount counts each animal as it crosses the line on screen. No photo, no clicker, no losing your place at 140 and starting over. Out in the pasture instead? Hold it up and pan slowly across the field. Same thing: every animal counted once as it passes. IT CORRECTS ITSELF Pan back to double-check and the count unwinds instead of doubling. A ewe that balks at the gate and turns around comes straight back off the tally. Count the way you actually move. COUNT PEOPLE, TOO Scan mode counts people the same way, through a gate, a doorway or a barn. Handy for a shearing crew, a farm stand, an open house, a market booth or a school tour. Herdcount counts people. It does not identify them: no faces are stored, no video is recorded, and nothing is uploaded. There is no server to upload to. HOW IT WORKS 1. Take a photo or choose one from your library 2. Pick a category: Poultry, Sheep, Cattle, Plants, People or Other 3. Herdcount marks each animal or plant with a numbered dot 4. Adjust the count with the +/- buttons if needed 5. Save it to your flock log NO SIGNAL NEEDED Everything runs on your iPhone using a built-in model. It works in pastures, barns and anywhere else with poor reception, which is where you count livestock anyway. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE No account. No cloud upload. No subscription. Pay once, use it forever. BUILT FOR SMALL FARMS - Poultry presets tuned for chickens, ducks and geese - Sheep and cattle modes - Plant and seedling counting for market gardeners - People counting for a crowd, a line or a barn full of shearers - Scan mode for gate counts and field sweeps - Tap any dot to remove a false count - Manual +/- adjustment before saving KEEP YOUR RECORDS - The Flock Log: browse every count with its marked-up photo - Trends chart shows your numbers over time - Edit labels and notes after saving - A notes field for each count ("North pasture", "New arrivals") - Export your full history as CSV and open it in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets Herdcount is made by a small team for farmers, not for investors. One-time purchase. No ads. No upsell. No nonsense.
