# MEGA vs Monro

The clearest difference is rating: Monro at 5.0 against MEGA's 4.5. Monro also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). MEGA's advantage is review sentiment (61% vs 43%) and ratings volume (16 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Monro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MEGA has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of MEGA's written reviews are positive against 43% of Monro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MEGA ships an update every 3 weeks, Monro monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
