# Protego vs NextMove

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NextMove at 88% against Protego's 33%. NextMove also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Protego's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (130 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Protego sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and NextMove sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NextMove holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Protego has 130 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Protego's written reviews are positive against 88% of NextMove's.

Protego ships an update every 9 days, NextMove every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
