# Screen Time Limit vs LOCKR

The clearest difference is monetization model: Screen Time Limit at freemium against LOCKR's subscription. Screen Time Limit also leads on ads (none vs shown). LOCKR's advantage is ratings volume (327 vs 10). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Limit sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and LOCKR sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Screen Time Limit against 4.6 for LOCKR. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LOCKR has 327 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Screen Time Limit ships an update every 8 days, LOCKR every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
