# ThetaWave vs StudyNotes AI

The clearest difference is ads: StudyNotes AI at none against ThetaWave's shown. StudyNotes AI also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). ThetaWave's advantage is ratings volume (51 vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ThetaWave sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.90 per month and StudyNotes AI sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StudyNotes AI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThetaWave has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ThetaWave ships an update fortnightly, StudyNotes AI every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
