# Bible Mode vs Scripture Before Scroll

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Scripture Before Scroll at none against Bible Mode's 15. Scripture Before Scroll also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). Bible Mode's advantage is ratings volume (12K vs 32) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bible Mode sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Scripture Before Scroll asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bible Mode holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible Mode has 12K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Bible Mode's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scripture Before Scroll's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bible Mode ships an update every 2 weeks, Scripture Before Scroll every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
