# Visual IQ vs ParrotNote

The clearest difference is ads: ParrotNote at none against Visual IQ's shown. ParrotNote also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Visual IQ's advantage is ratings volume (48 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Visual IQ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and ParrotNote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ParrotNote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Visual IQ has 48 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Visual IQ ships an update fortnightly, ParrotNote weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
