# YDS 5000 vs DailyScience

The clearest difference is ads: YDS 5000 at none against DailyScience's shown. YDS 5000 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). DailyScience's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YDS 5000 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and DailyScience sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

YDS 5000 ships an update every 2 months, DailyScience daily. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
