# Read Notes vs Clefs

The clearest difference is ads: Clefs at none against Read Notes's shown. Clefs also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Read Notes's advantage is ratings volume (6 vs 2) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Read Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Clefs sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Clefs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 2 respectively.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
