# BdayGen vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is update cadence: BdayGen at every 3 months against Countdown Widget's every 8 months. BdayGen also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BdayGen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Countdown Widget sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BdayGen ships an update every 3 months, Countdown Widget every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
