# Fate vs Writeblock

The clearest difference is ads: Writeblock at none against Fate's shown. Fate's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fate sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Writeblock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fate ships an update weekly, Writeblock every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
