# NestNote vs Beacon

The clearest difference is ads: Beacon at none against NestNote's shown. Beacon also leads on ratings volume (495 vs 11) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). NestNote's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 91%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NestNote sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Beacon sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for NestNote against 4.9 for Beacon. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beacon has 495 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of NestNote's written reviews are positive against 91% of Beacon's.

NestNote ships an update every 3 weeks, Beacon every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
