# Glimpse vs Writn

The clearest difference is ads: Glimpse at none against Writn's shown. Glimpse also leads on ratings volume (380 vs 8). Writn's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.5). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Glimpse sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Writn sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Glimpse against 4.8 for Writn. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Glimpse has 380 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 96% of Glimpse's written reviews are positive against 100% of Writn's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
