# SPF vs Sunny Pal

The clearest difference is monetization model: SPF at free with in-app purchases against Sunny Pal's subscription. SPF also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks) and review sentiment (32% vs 21%). Sunny Pal's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SPF sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Sunny Pal sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sunny Pal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5K and 1.5K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of SPF's written reviews are positive against 21% of Sunny Pal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SPF ships an update weekly, Sunny Pal every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
