# AcuRite NOW vs Flag Protocol

The clearest difference is rating: Flag Protocol at 2.6 against AcuRite NOW's 1.1. AcuRite NOW's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 5) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Flag Protocol holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 1.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AcuRite NOW has 1.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 2% of AcuRite NOW's written reviews are positive against 0% of Flag Protocol's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AcuRite NOW ships an update every 5 weeks, Flag Protocol every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
