# Step Rival vs Steply

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Steply at 133 against Step Rival's 12. Steply also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.2). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Step Rival sells 14 one-off in-app purchases and Steply sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Step Rival against 4.9 for Steply. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steply has 133 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Step Rival's written reviews are positive against 94% of Steply's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
