# Flix Player vs ProTube

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flix Player at none against ProTube's 2. Flix Player also leads on update cadence (daily vs weekly). ProTube's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (16K vs 4). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ProTube sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Flix Player asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flix Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ProTube has 16K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
