# Flix Player vs YouPlay

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flix Player at none against YouPlay's 5. Flix Player also leads on update cadence (daily vs weekly) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). YouPlay's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 8). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YouPlay sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Flix Player asks for nothing beyond the download.

YouPlay holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YouPlay has 1.9K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flix Player ships an update daily, YouPlay weekly. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
