# Remote Control TV vs For the Plot

The clearest difference is rating: For the Plot at 5.0 against Remote Control TV's 4.4. For the Plot also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Remote Control TV's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (103 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Remote Control TV sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and For the Plot sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

For the Plot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Remote Control TV has 103 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Remote Control TV ships an update every 3 weeks, For the Plot every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
