# TextEditor vs Vedic Samay

The clearest difference is ads: Vedic Samay at none against TextEditor's shown. Vedic Samay also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). TextEditor's advantage is ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextEditor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Vedic Samay sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for TextEditor against 5.0 for Vedic Samay. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextEditor has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

TextEditor ships an update every 3 weeks, Vedic Samay every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
