# LibriVox! vs AuBook

The clearest difference is rating: AuBook at 5.0 against LibriVox!'s 4.6. AuBook also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 weeks). LibriVox!'s advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (17 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LibriVox! sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and AuBook sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AuBook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LibriVox! has 17 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

LibriVox! ships an update every 6 weeks, AuBook every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
