# IPTV Xtream vs Bamboo Player

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bamboo Player at free against IPTV Xtream's freemium. Bamboo Player also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). IPTV Xtream's advantage is ratings volume (250 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IPTV Xtream sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Bamboo Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bamboo Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IPTV Xtream has 250 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of IPTV Xtream's written reviews are positive against 50% of Bamboo Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

IPTV Xtream ships an update fortnightly, Bamboo Player weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
