# PDF Scanner vs Sign Documents

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sign Documents at 100% against PDF Scanner's 20%. Sign Documents also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (daily vs every 4 days). PDF Scanner's advantage is ratings volume (240 vs 30). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Sign Documents sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sign Documents holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Scanner has 240 ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of PDF Scanner's written reviews are positive against 100% of Sign Documents's.

PDF Scanner ships an update every 4 days, Sign Documents daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
