# Screen Time Control vs Dumbphone

Screen Time Control and Dumbphone both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dumbphone's written reviews are positive against 60% of Screen Time Control's. Screen Time Control's advantage is iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Control sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Dumbphone sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Time Control holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 36 and 50 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Screen Time Control's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dumbphone's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Screen Time Control ships an update every 9 days, Dumbphone every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
