# ChatThread vs BetterType

The clearest difference is update cadence: BetterType at every 10 days against ChatThread's every 2 months. ChatThread's advantage is device support (4 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChatThread sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and BetterType sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChatThread ships an update every 2 months, BetterType every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
