# ReadSnaps vs SmartPet

The clearest difference is update cadence: ReadSnaps at every 5 days against SmartPet's every 3 weeks. SmartPet's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ReadSnaps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and SmartPet sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReadSnaps ships an update every 5 days, SmartPet every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
