# Werd vs Orrery

The clearest difference is ads: Orrery at none against Werd's shown. Orrery also leads on ratings volume (20 vs 2) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). Werd's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Werd sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.79 per month and Orrery sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Werd holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orrery has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Werd ships an update every 2 weeks, Orrery every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
