# YarnPixel vs Hooked

The clearest difference is review sentiment: YarnPixel at 100% against Hooked's 64%. YarnPixel also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7). Hooked's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (200 vs 6). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hooked sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. YarnPixel asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hooked holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked has 200 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of YarnPixel's written reviews are positive against 64% of Hooked's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

YarnPixel ships an update fortnightly, Hooked every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
