# SAT & ACT Prep vs Dolphin

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Dolphin at none against SAT & ACT Prep's 14. Dolphin also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 283). SAT & ACT Prep's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SAT & ACT Prep sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Dolphin asks for nothing beyond the download.

Dolphin holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 283 and 1.3K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of SAT & ACT Prep's written reviews are positive against 83% of Dolphin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SAT & ACT Prep ships an update weekly, Dolphin every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
