# AC Remote vs Folio

The clearest difference is ads: AC Remote at none against Folio's shown. AC Remote also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.2). Folio's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AC Remote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Folio sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AC Remote ships an update every 3 months, Folio every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
