# ChessLock vs LockIn

The clearest difference is review sentiment: LockIn at 100% against ChessLock's 67%. LockIn also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium). ChessLock's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChessLock sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and LockIn sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChessLock holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of ChessLock's written reviews are positive against 100% of LockIn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ChessLock ships an update fortnightly, LockIn monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
