# Tap vs SonicScript

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tap at none against SonicScript's 4. Tap also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). SonicScript's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SonicScript sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Tap asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SonicScript has 20 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Tap ships an update every 3 days, SonicScript fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
