# Koru vs Taroo

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Taroo at none against Koru's 1. Taroo also leads on ratings volume (13 vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). Koru's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Koru sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per month. Taroo asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Koru against 5.0 for Taroo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Taroo has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Koru ships an update daily, Taroo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
