# Ping vs PingKit

The clearest difference is monetization model: Ping at free against PingKit's free with in-app purchases. Ping also leads on ratings volume (99 vs 9). PingKit's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 days). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ping sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and PingKit sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Ping against 4.9 for PingKit. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ping has 99 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ping ships an update every 11 days, PingKit every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
