# Breakr vs Scrollmates

The clearest difference is monetization model: Scrollmates at freemium against Breakr's subscription. Scrollmates also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 73%). Breakr's advantage is ratings volume (184 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Breakr sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Scrollmates sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scrollmates holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Breakr has 184 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Breakr's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scrollmates's.

Breakr ships an update every 2 weeks, Scrollmates monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
