# SimpleNote vs BreakMode

The clearest difference is update cadence: BreakMode at every 3 weeks against SimpleNote's every 2 months. BreakMode also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SimpleNote ships an update every 2 months, BreakMode every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
