# Lingua Verbum vs YapR

The clearest difference is review sentiment: YapR at 88% against Lingua Verbum's 67%. YapR also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (22 vs 7). Lingua Verbum's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lingua Verbum sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and YapR sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lingua Verbum holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 22 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Lingua Verbum's written reviews are positive against 88% of YapR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lingua Verbum ships an update every 2 months, YapR fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
