# Tahir Browser vs Surface Time

The clearest difference is monetization model: Surface Time at free against Tahir Browser's free with in-app purchases. Surface Time also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Tahir Browser's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 3) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tahir Browser sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Surface Time sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Tahir Browser against 5.0 for Surface Time. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tahir Browser has 18 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tahir Browser ships an update fortnightly, Surface Time weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
