# EMERGE Scholars vs Dolphin

The clearest difference is rating: Dolphin at 4.8 against EMERGE Scholars's 4.3. Dolphin also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 4). EMERGE Scholars's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Dolphin holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dolphin has 1.3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of EMERGE Scholars's written reviews are positive against 83% of Dolphin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EMERGE Scholars ships an update every 3 weeks, Dolphin every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
