# Substitution Manager vs Soccer Subs

The clearest difference is monetization model: Substitution Manager at free against Soccer Subs's free with in-app purchases. Substitution Manager also leads on device support (4 vs 1). Soccer Subs's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Substitution Manager sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Soccer Subs sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Substitution Manager against 5.0 for Soccer Subs. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Substitution Manager ships an update every 3 weeks, Soccer Subs every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
