# Substitution Manager vs AFL Kickoff

The clearest difference is update cadence: AFL Kickoff at every 8 days against Substitution Manager's every 3 weeks. Substitution Manager's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Substitution Manager sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and AFL Kickoff sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Substitution Manager ships an update every 3 weeks, AFL Kickoff every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
