# Precommit vs Downtime

The clearest difference is update cadence: Downtime at every 3 days against Precommit's every 10 days. Downtime also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Precommit sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and Downtime sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Precommit ships an update every 10 days, Downtime every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
