# TextPort vs Winmail Viewer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Winmail Viewer at 100% against TextPort's 60%. Winmail Viewer also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and device support (3 vs 1). TextPort's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 19). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextPort sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Winmail Viewer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Winmail Viewer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextPort has 1.5K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of TextPort's written reviews are positive against 100% of Winmail Viewer's.

TextPort ships an update every 2 days, Winmail Viewer every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
