# NBack³ vs ShogiStep

The clearest difference is update cadence: ShogiStep at daily against NBack³'s every 4 days. ShogiStep also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NBack³ sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.49 per month and ShogiStep sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NBack³ ships an update every 4 days, ShogiStep daily. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
